Ascend Airways has committed to lease a 2022-build B737 MAX 8, scheduled for delivery in Q1 2024. This new addition to the fleet will allow Ascend Airways to offer the latest technology aircraft to its customers. Reducing noise and carbon emissions by 50% and 15% respectively, the B737 MAX 8 outperforms the competition, making it a quieter and more sustainable aircraft. Passengers will also benefit from spacious 30-inch pitch and headrests that will provide additional comfort on longer journeys.
Alastair Wilson, CEO, Ascend Airways, commented; ‘We have been focused on procuring Boeing MAX 8’s to align our business with the UK Jet Zero strategy and to offer customers capacity that will help them to achieve their sustainability targets. The high-quality onboard product will also maximise passenger comfort on longer journeys, made possible by the increased range of the MAX 8. We are thrilled to have secured this aircraft and look forward to offering it to our customers from February 2024.’
